MAKE A WISH

I hope everyone had a great week and a fantastic Thanksgiving.  I am so glad Black Friday is over.  Retail is a fun, but crazy business.  I will be a little more relaxed when my youngest daughter gets back to school. Both of my kids were stranded at the San Jose Airport.  My youngest daughter was supposed to leave at 9AM, she hopes to get on a 6PM flight.  I hope the fog holds off.

MISSED ANOTHER CHALLENGE DEADLINE

My life has been a whirlwind lately.  My part-time job in retail isn't so part-time this time of the year.  I work behind the scenes, before the store opens.  That means early mornings.  And for the last two days I have had no internet.  So I spent about 6 hours on the phone with Comcast and I missed another deadline.  I love my I Phone the only source of internet I had at home.  My desk top now works  Hopefully the laptops will be up and running after a specialist comes out tomorrow.
On to the card, which I made to enter in a Birthday Sundaes Challenge.  The task was to make a birthday card with a tree on it.  I used Joys of The Season for the tree.  Everything else is stamps.  I love this card.  Too bad I missed the deadline

MAG CHALLENGE #53-SWEET TREATS PAGE 70

Happy Friday.  I hope you are all going to get some crafting in this weekend.  It is time for MAG Challenge #53.  Check out what the amazing projects created by the DT MAG This week the challenge is to use page 70 of Sweet Treats"  This was quite a challenge for me since I don't know anyone who is turning 6 or 66.  So I used the flames as peacock feathers and the tag feature.  I used my Gypsy to make this project and when I first did it I counted over wrong and cut the wrong tag.  Remember for MAG Challenges you can only use the cuts on page 70 of Sweet Treats".  You cannot use any other Cricut Cartridge, page or cut from another cartridge (even if it is in you stash.)  However feel free to use any stickers or stamps you may have.  This week I used alot of chipboard pieces .

Cricut:Sweet Treats flame 14", 12.5" and 10.5": tag 3.6"

Rewind The Clock

I made this card for my high school friend, Linda.   Even though we have been out of school for over 35 years, we still laugh and giggle on the phone and reminesce   I started this card with the sentient "You can't turn back the clock, but you can wind it up again" by Bonnie Prudden.  Then I knew I had to use Rock Princess.
FORMULA
Paper:DCWV except red and purple foil papers are Recollections
Cricut:Rock Princess 4.06"
Gems from my stash
Ribbon:DMC embroidery floss
Stamp:Cloud Nine; ink-G studio
Label:Hampton Art
I am entering this into Birthday Sundaes Challenge http://birthdaysundaes.blogspot.com/2011/10/guest-designer-day-birthday-card.html  It has to have some kind of birthday sentiment on the front.  I hope this counts

MAG CHALLENGE #51-PAGODA PAGE 43

Welcome to MAG Challenge of the week.  This week we are using one of my favorite cartridges, Pagoda page 43. Be sure to check out the designers projects at  MAG.This is  a fun cartridge which has phrases (Kanji words), tags, and card features. Please remember for this challenge you cannot use any other Cricut cartridge, page or cut from another cartridge (even if it is in your stash).  Only use cuts from the specified page.  However use any embellishments...  stamps, bling, stickers etc.
The word on page 43. is "Water" .  My friend Jeanne has a blog of everyday wisdom and uncommon sense.  wisebehindyourears.wordpress.com  She is a writer and artist.  This lovely picture was painted by her.
